Cass County Fire District Purchases Affordable Apparatus From Command To Replace Their Old Platform

In April 2019, the Cass County Fire District, located in Indiana, purchased a 2003 E-One 75 Quint from Command Fire Apparatus. This truck replaced an older 100 ft platform truck.

The department, which goes on about 600 calls a year, had specific price requirements. “We were trying to stay within a tight budget,” Training Captain Eric Nelson said. Nelson came across the truck on Facebook and reached out to Command to learn more.

“We liked the truck and the services Command offered,” Nelson said. It was an easy process to negotiate the price.

“The community thinks we got a good truck,” Nelson said. It was important for the price of the truck to fit the community’s needs, especially since the department provides mutual aid as well.

Members of neighboring departments expressed to Nelson that the truck that they purchased was right one from them. The approval from the community and neighboring departments has been paramount to Nelson and his team.

The whole process from inquiry to delivery went well for the Cass County Fire District and the truck went into service a few days after being delivered to the station.

“The truck is exactly what we were looking for and is exactly what we expected.”
